Disc Golf is taking off like a homesick angel!

Hi Guys

i just wanted to let you all know that my disc golf project is progressing nicely. Last weekend i coached a young man who contacted PACE hoping to access Hornsea disc golf and learn more about the game. so i met with him and his mother and we spent the afternoon practising disc throwing techniques and finished the day with a four basket round. this young man is wheelchair bound after he suffered a brain tumor just over three years ago but he and his mother are working hard to aide and speed his recovery. although the young man cannot use his legs, he still has very good upper body strength and is very able when throwing discs. our first coaching session was very much a success and i hope to see them again soon as they were both very excited.

Mind day Services are also now accessing Hornsea disc golf created by PACE. three ladies joined the project this week and enjoyed their first experience of disc golf. they commented on the benefits of getting outdoors and being among wildlife and nature whilst playing a very likeable sport. hopefully this group will develop in skill and numbers and the project will contuinue to provide service users with an alternative way of gaining reccommended levels of daily physical activity.

if you would like to learn more about disc golf for the community please contact

thanks
take care
